Flux PDF Scanner ("the App") is developed by NextCore Consulting. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how the App handles your data on both Android and iOS. Where the two platforms behave differently, it's called out explicitly below.
Flux PDF Scanner does not operate its own servers for document data, and does not collect, transmit, or store your documents, scanned images, or OCR text on servers we control.
All documents, scanned images, PDFs, OCR text, and settings are stored locally on your device only (or, if you choose to enable an optional sync feature described below, on a destination you configure yourself). The App does not require account registration or login to use any of its core features.
The following data is stored on your device:
Signing in is entirely optional on both platforms — all core features work fully without it.
AndroidSign-in uses Google Sign-In. Your Google ID token is sent to our authentication server (operated by NextCore Consulting) to verify your identity and issue an account session; we receive and store your Google account's user ID, name, and email address to support account-based features.
iOSSign-in uses Sign in with Apple only (no Google Sign-In is offered on iOS). The iOS app has no backend authentication server — your name and email (or Apple's private relay email, if you choose to hide it) are stored locally on your device only, to personalize the Settings screen, and are never transmitted anywhere by the App.
The App requests camera access solely for document scanning. Camera images are processed locally on your device and are never transmitted to external servers by the App itself.
AndroidThe App requests storage access to save and manage your scanned documents on your device.
iOSThe App requests photo library access to create PDFs from existing photos and to save generated PDF page thumbnails.
If you enable App Lock or the Vault feature, the App requests biometric access (fingerprint/Face ID/Touch ID) to unlock the app or decrypt Vault contents. Your biometric data itself is never accessible to the App — verification is handled entirely by the operating system.
The optional "Device Link" / desktop transfer feature requests local network access to discover a companion desktop app on your Wi-Fi network and to send PDF files to it directly over your local network, using a PIN-authenticated connection. This connection never passes through external servers and is only used if you explicitly enable it.
AndroidText recognition (OCR) is performed using Google ML Kit's on-device text recognition.
iOSText recognition (OCR) is performed using Apple's on-device Vision framework.
On both platforms, all OCR processing occurs locally on your device — no document content is sent to Google, Apple, or any other third party for OCR processing.
iOSText translation is performed using Apple's on-device Translation framework. All processing occurs locally on your device.
If you choose to enable cloud sync — AndroidGoogle Drive or WebDAV, or iOSa Files-app folder (which may itself be backed by iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or another provider you've set up) or WebDAV — your documents will be uploaded to the destination you configure. This is entirely optional and user-initiated; the App does not sync any data without your explicit action, and we have no access to, and do not process, any data sent to a destination you configure.
The Device Link feature sends documents directly to your PC over your local Wi-Fi network using a PIN-authenticated connection. No data passes through external servers.
The App may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Before any personalized advertising is shown, the App requests your consent via Google's User Messaging Platform (for GDPR/EEA compliance) and — iOS only — separately requests App Tracking Transparency permission (required by Apple before any cross-app/cross-site tracking identifier can be used). You may decline consent/tracking — the App remains fully functional either way, and only non-personalized ads (or no ads, for Premium users) are shown if you decline. Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data according to Google's Privacy Policy. You can review or change your consent choices at any time in the App's Settings.
AndroidIn-app purchases are processed through Google Play Billing, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
iOSIn-app purchases are processed through Apple's StoreKit / App Store, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
On both platforms, the App itself never sees or stores your payment information.
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
